Fulbright TEA Frequently Asked Questions
Q: When is the program?
A: Wednesday, September 11 - October 28, 2024
Q: Where will I be living in Kent, Ohio?
A: During your program, you will be housed in the Kent State Hotel and Conference Center. You will share a double bed room and bathroom with another participant.
Q: How and where will I eat?
A: During the first few days of your program, you will receive a Kent State Flashcard where your per diem for the program will be available. You will use this card to pay for food on campus or in downtown Kent. Your per diem includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner equaling $54 a day. We will also provide some meals during your program.
Q: Where will my program be held on campus?
A: All of your courses will be held in White Hall, a short walk from the hotel, on the second floor.
Q: Can I pick my roommate?
A: If you happen to know someone in your program, please let us know and we can match you together. However, if you do not know anyone, we will match you through a survey. Roommates will not be changed after you have been matched. Remember, it is only for six weeks!
Q: What type of activities will we be involved in?
A: You will take several courses weekly: general pedagogy seminar, a Math or English seminar, and an education technology seminar.
During the program, you will also take part in plenty of cultural and civic activities. You will have the chance to visit Niagara Falls, see a musical in downtown Cleveland, visit the Rock and Roll Hall of Fames, etc. You will also meet with Friendship Families from Kent to learn about American culture and families.
Q: Who will pick me up at the airport?
A: Your transportation from the airport to the hotel will be arranged beforehand. Your academic director, Dr. Marty Jencius, will meet you at the airport and ensure you get to your transportation. You may have to wait at the airport for a short time for other participants to arrive and share transportation to the hotel in Kent.
Q: Will I have time to explore outside of program activities?
A: Yes! While the program is intensive, you will have most evenings off and Sundays. You will also have Fall Break (October 3 - 6) free to explore.

A: We have a dedicated website for the program where you can learn about the KSU team, see pictures of other participants, learn about last year’s participants, and see the program calendar: https://www.ksuteafulbright.com
